Rosewill RD600N-2DC-SL-SLV Stallion Series 600W Power Supply
November 29, 2007

Packaging:

The Rosewill RD600N-2DC-SL-SLV Stallion Series 600W Power Supply is sold in the relatively unmarked black box shown below. A pair of labels, one on the bottom and one on an edge, provide just about all of the information regarding the features and specifications that you could want.

Inside the box, the power supply is protected by bubble wrap with the cables bundled separately. In addition to the power supply, the box includes a manual, a bag of four mounting screws, and an AC power cable.

External Examination:

The first thing I noticed about the Rosewill Stallion 600W PSU is the mirror finish on the housing. I immediately had it smeared up with finger prints, and had to do some polishing to get it presentable for photos.

While the below left image may reveal what appears to be creases in the unit's finish, it is actually such a perfect mirror that the crinkles in the background surface are reflected.

The above right image details all of the typical data found on a power supply's label. Among the features and specifications we see that the 3.3V and 5V rails are rated for a combined 150W, and that the two 12V rails are rated for a combined 480W.

The below left image shows the bottom of the power supply, where a 80mm blue LED fan draws air in from the case. In addition, we see some rather unique ventilation holes where the typical perforations have been replaced with something that looks a bit more like a lattice. The below right images shows the outside face of the power supply where we find another 80mm blue LED fan, an illuminated blue power switch, and the AC power socket.

While there is nothing unappealing about the appearance, I am reminded of power supplies from a few years ago. Features like the high polish finish and dual 80mm fans definitely give it an old school look.
