NZXT Apollo Orange Midtower Case
August 04, 2006

Conclusion:

This was the first time I have looked at an NZXT case, and I have to say I am impressed. The construction of the case is well done. If you are not big into modding, but want a case that will stand out, the NZXT Apollo is a great option.

The biggest negative on the Apollo is the issue I had installing hard drives in the 3.5" drive bays. Not everybody will encounter this issue because most will use the hard drive bays instead of the 3.5" drive bay. The second issue is the burrs that are on the slide locks for the 5.25" drive bays, which could cut

Many computer enthusiasts will not be excited by the motherboard standoffs, however I did find them helpful to ensure your motherboard is mounted correctly, and could be even more helpful to a novice. While I do not use front audio, NZXT has thought this out and included more than the standard audio hookups. They have included hookups for AC'97 and Intel HD audio.

A search of PriceGrabber shows the NZXT Apollo starting at $59.99 without a power supply, and $90.99 with a 400w power supply. This is a good price for a mid-tower case of this quality.

Given the performance and overall features, I award the NZXT Apollo Orange Midtower Case the rating of "Recommended".

Pros:

» Great tool-less hard drive rails
» Tool-less expansion slots
» Quiet
» Nice Design

Cons:

» Burr on the slide locks
» 3.5" drive bay issue for hard drives
» No front 120mm fan
